How to change Joomla Favicon |

All Joomla! installations come with preinstalled Favicon that looks like this . It is Joomla logo. In this article we will cover how to change Joomla default icon with your own.
Creating your own faviconFavicon is a 16x16 pixels small icon. Usually that is only enough for a letter or a square shaped image. If you try to stuff to much things into your icon, it might not look good. How do I do it? You can create it on your own or use online tools that will do it for you .
Replacing Joomla default icon
Favicon in Joomla is located in /images/ folder. So what you need to do is upload and replace the old icon with new one. It is called favicon.ico. We use Filezilla to connect to our web host.

TroubleshootingIn some browsers you might not see new favicon immediately. Thats because Favorites icon are cached. If the new icon wont show, try pressing Ctrl+F5 for IE or Ctrl+Shift+R for FF.
