How to install Google Analytics module in Joomla?

1. Download module to your computer.
2. Go to Installers: Modules
   
   
3. Click on browse and select file on your computer.
   
   
4. Click Upload and install
5. If module is successfully installed, you will get a message and need to click continue. If not, follow the appendix.

Configuring Analytics Module:

1. Go to Modules: Site modules
   
   
2. Click on Google Analytics module.
   
   
3. For position select Footer or Debug. Make sure it is before the closing body tag.
   
   
4. Published: select yes.
5. Insert Analytics _uacct code - You have to sign up for Analytics first!
6. Module published - select yes.
7. From right sidebar with Items select All.
8. Click Save.
9. Your google code should now be ready.

Configuring Google Analytics

1. Now login to your analytics account.
2. Click on check status.
3. Google Analytics should now start gathering data.
4. Check back in day or two to see stats.

Appendix:

Some hosts have some restrictions (Safe mode On) and wont turn it off. If that happens there is still hope.
You have to extract files on your computer, and manually upload them and install.

Here is the procedure:

1. Unzip files on your computer.
2. Connect to your host with FTP.
3. Upload files to: public_html/administrator/components/com_installer/module
4. Go back to administration area and go to Installers: Modules
5. Now click on Install in the Install from directory field.
6. If successful go to step 6 above to configure it.
